I have gotten an invitation to go and serve at Nkhoma Hospital in Malawi. I personally had to google it to figure out where in the world that is. Malawi is one of the smallest countries in Africa and is in the southeast between Zambia and Mozambique. It is described as "the warm heart of Africa" as the people are so welcoming and friendly. It ranks among the world's least developed countries.
I will have the privilege of being the pediatrician and neonatologist at Nkhoma Hospital from mid-August until the end of October. Many diseases I will be treating are illness I learned about medical school but have never seen. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve these people, but feel a little overwhelmed as I study and prepare. I know that God is able to show His strength when I am weak and I look forward to this adventure as a time to fully rely on Him.
