Go and Send

I have gone on medical mission trips for many years. Typically, these have been done with little discussion with my friends, church, or others in my life. I felt more like it was a calling that was personal and my own. I also feared possible criticism about unsmart choices or appearing like I was attention seeking. I don't love public attention but find appearing to desire public attention so awful that it makes me shudder.

Uh....but you are blogging.

Well, I have had a change of mind and attitude. I read a book, then was sent another book, then was doing a Bible study. God often has to whisper things MANY times to me before my heart listens. The Holy Spirit opened my ears to the message that God has commanded us all to either be goers or senders (or both) when it comes to the gospel. Meaning in the body of Christ, some are called to GO out and share the good news, and some are to SEND through giving, prayer, or care on the home front. It is a corporative and collaborative call and mission-not singular and personal. When I fail to include others, all of us miss out on sharing the struggles, refining, and blessings.

So, I prayerfully invite my family, friends, church members, and others to join with me on this upcoming adventure of service and spreading the love and hope we have through Jesus. I am GOing! Thank you for SENDing!
