I have written 2 small posts and already I am anxious about the critical eyes that may be perusing them. So, let me just go ahead and warn any readers about what this blog will and will not be. This is primarily my way to stay connected to my prayer partners who are journeying with me on this adventure. This is also a journal of sorts for me, knowing that there may be super long and busy days that if not recorded in some fashion will be lost forever (my journals from Haiti and Russia have proven it).
This will be factual, emotional, tearful, giggling, sincere, and prayerful. However, it will not be grammatically correct, there will be far too many commas and run on sentences, and at times the emotions and thoughts I share will not be pretty, or correct, or what later I wish they had been. I am very, VERY human. I am a girl who likes good hot coffee, cuddly blankets, and foot rubs. I am guessing very few of my creature comforts will be present in Africa and so my disposition at times will not be at its best. Plus, I love kids and a kid hurting is one of my least favorite things and yet a big part of the job I signed up for.
All of this is to say, please read all of this with grace and kindness. Please know that my heart's desire is to joyfully serve and follow where God leads and I hope to be a display of how He can use ordinary fallible people to show His love!
